Computer science core¶
Used by the GATE computer-science family papers (CS and DA) in this list. The overlap map has the full list.
What it covers¶
Checked against the official GATE 2027 syllabus PDFs (links below), fetched 2026-09-28:
- Foundations: discrete mathematics, digital logic, computer organisation and architecture
- Software: programming (C for CS, Python for DA), data structures, algorithms
- Systems and theory: theory of computation, compiler design, operating systems, databases and SQL, computer networks
Official syllabi: GATE 2027 CS syllabus PDF (10 sections) · GATE 2027 DA syllabus PDF (7 sections)
Depth by exam family¶
| Family | What the exam rewards |
|---|---|
| GATE CS | Full depth: all 10 syllabus sections, including digital logic, organisation, theory of computation, compilers, OS and networks |
| GATE DA | Shared subset only: Python programming, data structures, algorithms, and databases/SQL (DA Sections 4–5); DA's probability, linear algebra, ML and AI live in other modules, and CS-only topics (digital logic, organisation, TOC, compilers, OS, networks) are not asked |

How to practise¶
Implement each data structure once in the exam's language (C for CS, Python for DA); then solve official GATE CS/DA past papers topic by topic, timed.
