Exam pattern¶
Computer Based Examination: objective multiple-choice, set in English and Hindi, 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours with a sectional timer (30 minutes each for Part I and Part II, 60 minutes for Part III). Candidates eligible for scribe get 2 hours 40 minutes (40 + 40 + 80). −0.25 per wrong answer. Scores are normalised across shifts where applicable. Minimum qualifying marks in the CBT: 30% (UR), 25% (OBC/EWS), 20% (all other categories).

|---|---|---|---|
| I | General Intelligence and Reasoning | 50 | 50 |
| II | General Awareness | 50 | 50 |
| III | English Language and Comprehension | 100 | 100 |
Skill Test in Stenography: only CBT-shortlisted candidates appear (category-wise, for the post(s) applied for: Grade 'C', Grade 'D', or both). One 10-minute dictation in English or Hindi (as opted in the application) at 100 words per minute for Grade 'C' and 80 words per minute for Grade 'D', transcribed on computer. It is mandatory but qualifying: the Commission fixes category-wise qualifying standards per post, and final selection is on CBT merit among those who qualify the skill test.
