Exam pattern

CBE: one objective-type multiple-choice paper, 100 questions, 100 marks, 90 minutes, −0.25 per wrong answer. Multi-shift scores are normalized per the Commission's 02-06-2025 formula for merit and cut-off. Question paper is of Matriculation level.

Part Subject Questions Marks
A General Knowledge / Current Affairs 50 50
B Reasoning 25 25
C Numerical Ability 15 15
D Computer Fundamentals, MS Excel, MS Word, Communication, Internet, WWW and Web Browsers etc. 10 10
Total (90 minutes, no sectional timing stated) 100 100

On top of the normalized CBE score the notice adds incentive marks: NCC 'A'/'B'/'C' certificate holders get 2%/3%/5% of the maximum marks (not available to ex-servicemen), and holders of a Degree or Post Graduate Diploma from Rashtriya Raksha University get 2–5% by class, on production of the certificate at PE&MT.

PE&MT is qualifying only: race (1600 m), long jump, high jump, then height/chest measurement; standards differ by sex and age group and are in paras 12.12–12.19 of the notice.
