IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for Masters)¶

JAM is the entrance for M.Sc., joint M.Sc.-PhD and similar programmes at the IITs and IISc, and is accepted by NITs and other institutes. IIT Kharagpur organises JAM 2027.

Exam pattern¶
The JAM 2027 examination is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) with seven papers: Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematical Statistics (MS), Mathematics (MA), and Physics (PH).
Each test paper consists of three sections: - Section A: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with negative marking for incorrect answers. - Section B: Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) with no negative marking. - Section C: Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
