Exam pattern

Both CBTs carry −1/3 per wrong answer; there is no negative marking in CBAT. CBT 1 marks are not counted in the final panel. Final merit is 50% CBT 2 Part A + 50% CBAT. Because each CBT runs in many shifts, the notice provides for normalisation of marks across shifts.

Stage Questions Marks Time Content
CBT 1 (screening) 75 75 60 min Mathematics, mental ability, general science of 10th standard level
CBT 2 Part A (merit) 100 100 90 min Mathematics, general intelligence and reasoning, basic science and engineering
CBT 2 Part B (qualifying, 35% for all) 75 75 60 min The candidate's trade (DGT trade syllabi)
