Syllabus

Per the brochure, three content heads (described here in our own words):

  • Logical / Abstract Reasoning (100 marks): how quickly and accurately you can think; questions based on figures and diagrams, plus verbal reasoning.
  • Quantitative Aptitude (50 marks): how fast and accurately you work with numbers and do numerical calculations; arithmetic problems involving ratio and proportion, percentage and similar topics; quantitative reasoning and interpretation of tables, common graphs and charts.
  • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (50 marks): passages with questions on their contents; English ability tested through grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms and comprehension of passages.

The brochure's Test Information section carries sample questions for each head.

How to prepare (free, in order)

  1. Learn the shape of the paper first: 200 questions in 150 minutes, one mark each and no penalty, so the pace is roughly 45 seconds per question and every question should be attempted.
  2. Reasoning is half the paper (Logical 75 + Abstract 25). Build speed and accuracy there first, since it is the single largest scoring block.
  3. There is no sectional time limit and any question can be taken at any point; practise moving between reasoning, quant and English so the whole 150 minutes is used without stalling on one section.
  4. Rebuild school-level arithmetic — ratio and proportion, percentage, tables and graphs — for Quantitative Aptitude, and read varied English passages for Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension.
  5. Work the brochure's sample questions, then full timed mocks under real conditions; with no negative marking, aim to finish the paper.
