Part Subject Questions
I Concerned discipline (Electrical Engineering) 140
II General Awareness 30

Total 200
  • Marking: one mark for every correct MCQ; a negative marking of ¼ mark (0.25) is deducted for every wrong MCQ attempted; no marks are awarded or deducted for unattempted questions.
  • Qualifying marks: 40% of total marks for General/OBC/Gen-EWS and 35% for SC/ST/PwBD.

Syllabus

The advertisement prescribes the qualification and the paper pattern but does not publish a topic-wise syllabus. The 140 discipline questions are at the level of the three-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering, so use the shared Electrical engineering core module as the study map. The other 60 questions are split equally between:

  • General Awareness — current affairs, history, geography, polity and general science.
  • Reasoning — verbal and non-verbal reasoning.

How to prepare (free, in order)

  1. Know the paper: 200 MCQs in 180 minutes with −0.25 per wrong answer, so accuracy matters as much as speed.
  2. Discipline first (140 marks): work through the EE core module at diploma level — circuits, electrical machines, power systems, measurement and basic electronics.
  3. General Awareness (30 marks): follow the General Awareness module.
  4. Reasoning (30 marks): practise the Reasoning module for speed and accuracy.
  5. Mock the pattern: attempt a full 200-question paper in 180 minutes before the exam.
