Exam pattern

One computer-based paper of 180 one-mark multiple-choice questions, with no negative marking:

Subject Questions
Physics 60
Chemistry 60
Mathematics 60
Total 180 questions, 180 marks

The medium is English only. Selection for seats in member institutions is based on merit in this entrance test, followed by online counselling. The session and test centre are allotted through a computer-assisted randomization process and printed on the Test Admission Ticket; requests for a change of city or slot are not entertained. Diploma candidates are not eligible (no lateral entry), and a candidate scoring zero is assigned no rank.

Syllabus

The test follows the CBSE syllabus: about 33% from Class 11 (2024-25) and about 67% from Class 12 (2025-26). The unit-wise detail is in COMEDK's official syllabus PDFs linked under Official sources above (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics).

How to prepare (free, in order)

  1. Master Class 11-12 Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from the NCERT textbooks (the CBSE base of the paper), giving extra weight to Class 12 topics.
  2. Since there is no negative marking, practise to attempt all 180 questions: timed MCQ sets, accuracy first, then speed.
  3. Use COMEDK's official mock tests (published online before the exam) to get used to the computer-based format.
