Exam pattern¶
One online (computer-based) paper: 3 hours, 160 objective multiple-choice questions of one mark each (160 marks). There is no negative marking, and nothing is deducted for leaving a question blank.
| Stream | Section | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Engineering | Mathematics | 80 | 80 |
| Engineering | Physics | 40 | 40 |
| Engineering | Chemistry | 40 | 40 |
| Agriculture & Pharmacy | Biology (Botany 40 + Zoology 40) | 80 | 80 |
| Agriculture & Pharmacy | Physics | 40 | 40 |
| Agriculture & Pharmacy | Chemistry | 40 | 40 |
To qualify you need 25% of the maximum marks; there is no minimum qualifying mark for SC/ST candidates. Because the test runs in several sessions, scores are normalised, and the rank gives 75% weightage to the normalised EAPCET marks and 25% to the 10+2 marks in the relevant group subjects.
Syllabus¶
The Andhra Pradesh intermediate (Class 11–12) syllabus, printed subject-wise in Annexure-I of each booklet: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for engineering; Biology (Botany and Zoology), Physics and Chemistry for agriculture and pharmacy. The stream-wise syllabus PDFs are linked from the EAPCET homepage.
How to prepare (free, in order)¶
- Engineering: Mathematics alone is half the paper (80 of 160). Finish the intermediate Maths syllabus first, then Physics, then Chemistry.
- Agriculture and pharmacy: Biology is half the paper (40 Botany + 40 Zoology). Read NCERT Class 11–12 Biology closely, then Physics and Chemistry.
- There is no negative marking, so train to attempt all 160 questions within 3 hours — never leave a blank.
- Take the free official mock test (Engineering and Agriculture & Pharmacy) on the EAPCET homepage to get used to the computer-based interface.
