License — free for students, protected from theft

Plain-English promise: Any individual may use this entire project — every map, dataset, rubric, tool and app — completely free, end to end, forever, for personal study and preparation. No payment, no sign-up wall, no catch. What is not allowed is someone taking this work and selling it or building a closed commercial product on it without permission.

1. Content (maps, datasets, rubrics, notes, analysis, taxonomy — everything except code)

Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). Full text: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/legalcode

You are free to use, copy, share, and adapt this content, provided you: - Attribution — credit "Awesome Indian Exams by Rajon Das and contributors" with a link to this repository; - NonCommercial — do not use it for commercial advantage or paid products/services; - ShareAlike — distribute any adaptations under this same CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.

Individual students using it for their own study are always in the clear — that is exactly what it is for.

2. Code (scripts/, ops/, tools/, tests/, apps — *.py, *.sh, *.js, *.ts, *.rs, *.css)

Licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0). Full text: https://www.gnu.org/licenses/agpl-3.0.txt

You may use, study, modify and redistribute the code freely. But under AGPL, anyone who runs a modified version — including as a network/web service — must make their complete source available under the same AGPL-3.0 license. This keeps every derivative open and free; it blocks anyone from taking the code closed-source into a paid product.

3. Third-party material (IMPORTANT — this protects you too)

This project does not own and does not redistribute third-party copyrighted material: - Topper answer copies / handwritten scripts (UPSC Mains, State PSC Mains, ESE, etc.), - Previous-year question papers (belong to the conducting bodies), - Teacher lecture videos (belong to the educators / YouTube).

These are only referenced — official links, exact citations, and exact YouTube video + timestamp — never copied or re-hosted. All rights to that material remain with its owners; this project provides navigation and analysis (transformative use), giving credit to the source and driving students to it.

4. No warranty

Provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Study material is aggregated best-effort; always verify against the official source before relying on it.
